Challenge Tour for the first time in Prague!
European Challenge Tour has never taken place right in Prague. This will change July 6 – 9, 2017. Prague Golf Challenge will take place for the first time at Prague City Golf Club in Prague – Zbraslav. Czech Republic will immediatelly become one of few countries within the European Challenge Tour, which will have the honor to host two tournaments of this serie. The first one is D + D REAL Czech Challenge.
“Our goal is to promote Czech golf and to enable Czech players to play as many tournaments at the highest level. From year 2017, Czech Republic will have two Challenge Tour and one European Tour event. That is more than usually have golf advanced countries in Europe. I strongly believe that this will increase the probability of success of any Czech player. We have organised tournament in Slovakia for three straight years in the same dates, but after a huge debate, we decide to move this tournament Czech Republic. Zbraslav has been chosen as the most appropriate venue for this tournament. We are also very excited about the approach and willingness of owners of the golf course and we look forward to long term cooperation, “says Petr Dedek, owner of the promoting company RELMOST.
Prague City Golf Course has undergone approval procedure from representative of Challenge Tour. “This course has an ideal location, both to the city center and to the airport. It also has fantastic background, spacious restaurant, locker rooms and large driving range. I really like the design and even now in November and despite cold weather, golf course is in excellent condition. I am absolutely convinced that very attractive tournament awaits playes in the calendar of Challenge Tour in July” said José Maria Zamora, assistant director of the Challenge Tour.
There will be 156 players in the starting field, of which at least 12 Czech. Total prize money of 175,000 Euros will be split between the players, the winner will receive 28,000 Euro.
